generous spirit can be traced
all the way back to the earliest
days of our company. From Red
Cross and United Way donations
to countless other national and
local forms of support, Cintas
and our employee-partners have
always stepped up to make a difference
in the lives of others.
In 1998, Cintas sought a way to make a difference in the
lives of the poorest of the poor worldwide. The easy part
was realizing we had something to give. The difficult part
was finding a way to get the aid into the hands of those in
need. That was when Cintas began its relationship with Matthew
25: Ministries’ Center for Humanitarian Relief. It was
then that we realized that something very special was about
to happen.
Matthew 25: Ministries is a federally recognized 501 (c)(3)
non-profit humanitarian aid organization established in 1992
in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area. For over a decade, Mathew
25 has been a lifeline of relief to the poorest of the poor
in over 30 countries.
By donating fabric, sewing machines, clothing, and millions
of first aid supplies to Matthew 25 programs, Cintas has been
able to help more than 1.5 million people around the world.
Cintas supports all of the following M25M programs:

Clothing a Needy World:
Cintas has donated over 1.5 million pieces of clothing to
help children and families all over the world.
That’s
enough to outfit the entire Charlotte, North Carolina population
with a shirt, pant, or jacket.

Fabric of Hope:
Cintas has donated over 150,000 yards of fabric to Mathew
25.
That’s roughly enough fabric to lay
a path halfway across the state of Ohio.

Healthier Tomorrows:
Cintas has donated over 5 million first aid products to
M25M.
That’s roughly enough medicine to
treat every person in Cincinnati and Cleveland combined.

Cleaner World . . . Healthier Kids:
Cintas arranged for additional relationships between suppliers
and Matthew 25: Ministries for donations of anti-bacterial
soaps and other items to fight illness and disease.
In November of 2003, Matthew 25: Ministries honored Cintas with its “Corporate Humanitarian Award,” the highest award given by Matthew 25 for public service. In 2005, Cintas received the Matthew 25: Ministries “Appreciation Award” for donating more than 6 million pounds of humanitarian aid to over 1 million people around the world. In 2007, Cintas was inducted into the Matthew 25: Ministries Humanitarian Hall of Fame.
“Few companies do more good for more people
than Cintas,” said Reverend Wendell Mettey, Matthew
25 President and Founder. “Their helping hands have
helped us touch more than 1.5 million people worldwide.”
Reverend Mettey received both the Jefferson and Jacqueline
Kennedy Onassis awards from the American Institute for Public
Service in 2003. Past recipients of such awards include: Henry
Kissinger, Colin Powel, Bob Hope, and Bill Gates.
Since our relationship with Matthew 25 began, Cintas and
our employee-partners have been able to make a significant
impact in the lives of needy people around the world. Our
partners receive frequent updates on the impact we are making
in the form of videos, newsletters, and personal visits from
the folks at the Matthew 25 Center for Humanitarian Relief.
Ohio Governor Bob Taft even delivered a personal message to
all of our partners in the form of a video. In it, the Governor
stated,
“I commend Cintas for their extraordinary
effort in helping the needs of others.”
